Happy November Everyone!!
This last week was all sorts of busy crazy and this month looks like it'll be a zoo keeping up with everything but here's the latest.
-Wednesday Night I went to a play called Stage Door. I was very impressed. The entire play was designed to look like a black and white film with grey scaled costumes and make up, lots of humor, lots of drama, etc. The basics of the story line: Follows a group of girls trying to become actresses on the stage during the great depression. Roller coaster of emotions but definitely worth the ride.
-Thursday Night i went to the Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point. They had things from bikes, go cart type bikes you peddle, pig races, chicken shows, slides, jumping pillows, and of course, mazes. I wanted to see the haunted maze since it was supposed to have a Fablehaven theme (Fablehaven is a book series... Think Spiderwick Chronicles type of books) so I thought it wouldn't be too scary with goblins etc. Turn out it was only designed to say Fablehaven and was going to just be a standard corn maze with chainsaws and such. My friend Kami was under the same impression I was and got really nervous. I told her it wouldn't be too bad but I don't think she believed me at first the way she clung to my arm. The entire maze we just made jokes to the actors. We commented about their math homework (since most of the people working the mazes are poor college/highschool students), snacks, their costumes, their wages, etc. In the end Kami was joking along with me. My favorite guy jumped off of a huge hay bale wall (must have been as tall as a single story building and started to growl at us.
Later that night I discovered I'd left my wallet at Thanksgiving Point. I freaked out for a while thinking it was lost forever in the corn maze but thankfully a few people sent me e-mails saying they'd been called and that my phone was in the Corn Maze's Lost and Found. That was a relief.
-Friday Night there was a huge Halloween Dance i got to help organize. It was kind of a mess since less of half of the wards in the stake realized they needed to send people to help with set up before 5pm.... The dance itself turned out really well and I think people had fun. My ward was in charge of karaoke. Pretty straight forward and this year I had a lot more man power to help me guard the machines. Good night of dancing, singing, partying, etc.
-Saturday Morning... Oh, I forgot to mention. This year for Halloween I dressed as a Garden Gnome. I ran a Halloween Half Marathon wearing this costume. It was not my best race time but it was still a lot of fun to run surrounded by so many crazy costumes. I think next year I'll dress like the gingerbread man or something I can make a little less hot...
Later that Night I played a game called Werewolfs and was destroyed every round. I got the role "Teenage Werewolf" three times in a row. This meant I had to say "werewolf" each round. They'd basically wait for me to say the word and I'd get lynched... Brutal, but I guess I can't blame them...
Thats all for now. This month I'm writing a novel, taking a scuba course, playing in a Messiah concert, and going to Harry Potter Opening Night for starters. Lets just say theres a lot to do and not enough time to do it in. : P
Jill
When are you playing in the Messiah? I would love to go to it. I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Sadly, Maren can't come, but we shall party.
ReplyDeleteIt should be going on during the first Sunday of December. Zhenya is conducting and I'm sure you'll know a few other previous CT people in it. Yeah, I'll remember to get you more specifics about it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and that party was basically AmAzInG!! Too bad Maren couldn't be there.
