Visions of a future self

I am one of those people that can get distracted easily. One of life's great distractions is pondering answers to those "What if" questions or visualizing yourself in weird situations that could potentially happen in the future.

So I'm taking a scuba class. Its really out of this world amazing breathing under water. The sensation is hard to describe. I'm super excited to dive in the open water. The instructor was showing us pictures from Cape Cod and the clarity of the water, variety of wild life, colors, vibrancy, were so beautiful they didn't seem real.

Well, at one point they got on the topic of lobsters. Apparently in many oceanic diving sites, you can go diving with a bag and catch lobsters. It seemed pretty straight forward, grab it, stick it in the bag, make sure its big enough, and its yours.

Next thing I know, I imagine my life as a future wife. My husband comes home and says, "Boy, that smells good honey!" and I reply, "Thanks sugar plum, it's lobster. I went scuba diving and grabbed it out of the ocean this morning. Oh, and I picked the asparagus from the garden." I told Jackie Warner about this idea and she said my spouse will have to end up being quite the man. He will be. Maybe he could collect cream from his own milking cow, use my kitchen aid mixer and liquid nitrogen to make us homemade ice cream. I'm rather fond of ice cream. Oooh! Brownie sundays. I guess he could make the brownies from a box.

Another beautiful train of thought just as I started writing this entry. I was thinking about how to describe scuba diving. Things like weightless, unreal, and imagine walking on the moon popped into my head. I then imagined that lobster dinner taking place on the moon. It could be a whole family outing. My husband and our ten children could leap across the moon craters, exclaiming how this is just like scuba diving, and then go hunt for aliens or moon cheese or something.

If any of you guys meet my ice cream making, alien hunting astronaut with a love of broiled lobster smothered in a garlic herb butter sauce, you should probably send him my way. In the mean time, this Med Tech needs to get her scuba homework done and a novel written. :P

Peace out.
