I've been kind of amazed with all of the great books they've been planning to turn into movies as of late.
First you have the Hobbit which comes out in December which will be wonderful since I love Peter Jackson and the LOTR movies. I'm pretty determined to show up to that one in costume since I didn't get to do that in high school for any of the other films, much to my teenage displeasure. Here's the preview if you haven't seen it yet.
Then there is Les Miserables starring Hugh Jackman. In case you weren't aware, in addition to being extremely handsome that man has an AMAZING voice. There was that time I stumbled upon him starring in Oklahoma. That was a good day. The only con to this film I've discovered so far is that Ann Hathaway will play Fauntine but considering she dies during the first half of the movie, I think I can deal with it. Here's Hugh Jackman singing. Start at about 0:50
But those movies aren't what this blog post is about. This was the cherry on the cake where I went "REALLY?!?" All these good books into movies in half a year?!?
That's right. They're coming out with a movie for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. I confess I rather enjoyed the book but kind of in a guilty way. I thought it would be at least a little educational, a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies kind of a novel, but I don't feel like I learned a whole lot. It might have felt a little educational if it had had the book club discussion like P&P&Z did.
But this preview made me remember how I want to still learn more about Abraham Lincoln. He's the sort of man I could go for I think go for. Honest, Tall, well dressed, good heart, doesn't like vampires... I think I could learn a lot from him. My new project for myself is to learn more about Abe Lincoln from a source other than Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter before the movie comes out.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post Jill! Thank you for your wit and humor!
