One of the joys in my life is the Miriam-Webster word of the day. Half the time I know the word already but sometimes they throw in something bizarre. I find such words highly amusing.
Today's word is nictitate. Its a verb synonymous to the word wink. I think it would go well with my current favorite word of the day, osculate aka kiss. I could write a very successful romance novel if they keep sending me words like this.
With pursy lips and a nictitate, the Palooka endeavored to osculate the Coquette.
I'd sell more copies than Harry Potter if I strung together sentences like that. Well.... maybe. I think I'm the sort that'd be 10x more likely to succumb to temptation if a man leaned in and whispered that he desperately wanted to osculate my face. I guess most of the world might not be as ridiculous as I am.
