The Platypus that could Fly

I have an awful habit of drawing in my church notes notebook. Today I drew a picture of a Platypus skydiving. If I had had more paper I would have drawn him with other skydivers like an ostrich and penguin. However, with my limited space the Platypus won out. I guess its not even a real bird to begin with but I imagined a platypus thinking "I lay eggs like a duck. I have webbed feet like a duck. Ducks can swim and fly. What is stopping me from hitting the skies!"

I can visualize the Platypus stepping to the edge of the plane, pausing to ask "What gave me the audacity to think I was born to fly?" Then he jump out of the plane anyways and hopes that his parachute works.

I heard back from the Mayo Clinic and there will be a job opening sometime in the near future that includes working core lab hours that won't totally kill my social life (9am-7:30pm 4 days a week. I'd be like a normal person again) I feel like its the tipping point, that moment where everything will start happening REALLY fast. I'm at the edge, looking at my life, pausing to ask "What gave me the audacity to think I could fly away to Arizona." I guess we'll have to see if this little platypus has a functional parachute. Here I go!
