Nerd Moment

So, today at work we were discussing national lab week (which is coming up next week. w00t!) and it made me think of a few random items that I REALLY want... Not enough to buy for myself but someday hopefully people will get me gifts like this.



I really want a stuffed Microbe. The website has a wide variety of bacteria and a few random cells and vectors. I REALLY want the Helicobacter pylori. I think he looks so cute all yellow and about to cause an ulcer. I'd enjoy getting a Leukocyte or Giardia as well but I think H. pylori is my favorite.



Petri dish soaps!! I think the grapefruit MAC plate looks particularly fun.



I like this shirt. We've had conversations in the lab about other shirt possibilities. My two current favorites are to have a picture of a petri dish with the caption "I streak for pure culture" (technique to isolate bacteria colonies) and one that says "I'm in control" with a picture of a 2SD chart (used when we're running lab quality control).

Well, back to work with me. Just wanted to share my nerd moment... I think I need to put more pictures on this blog.... maybe some labels. I'm going to work on that.
